Vaporwave posters & icon

The goal was to design two posters and an icon inspired by the vaporwave, a genre of music as well as a design movement that began in the early 2000s. The symbolism in vaporwave typically draws on Western iconography and references, and I wanted to subvert that and draw on Taiwanese/Chinese influence instead. A big part of vaporwave is this sense of nostalgia, so I used images such as stills from old Taiwanese films and images of ancient relics.

Later these posters and icon were combined in a class publication and printed out.
